When you stab the throttle open the vacuum disappears for a moment and the gas stops flowing until the rpms increase. that is where the accelerator pump fills in the void. I may have found why the carb bogs when you stab the throttle wide open. Take the side cover off your carb and find where the throttle cable connects. You should see a little black lever connected to the main lever (the one the cable connects to) via a spring. These lines will be used to quickly find the exact throttle opening while jetting. Clean the air filter and warm the bike up. Accelerate through the gears until the throttle is at full throttle (a slight uphill is the best place for this).To check for air leaks, grab some carburetor cleaner or starting fluid. Put the choke on and start the bike up. Once is running, mist some carb cleaner or starting fluid around the air boot and around the vacuum hoses (if there are any). Less clean air means the jetting will become more rich, which can cause your dirt bike to bog. Keep the air filter clean, whether you have a 2 stroke or a 4 stroke. I think it does, some, anyway; obviously a smaller and smaller effect at wider open throttle positions. Bogging: Again, not a technical term but commonly used. Bogging can be a result of a lean setting where not enough fuel is entering the combustion chamber for the motor to run properly. Theres two problems with that.Ski runs fine at part throttle and idle, accelerates OK, etc. But if you run it at full throttle for more than a few minutes it gradually slows and then dies. No sputtering. Many people don't realize that 2 cycle engines are best run at wide open throttle (chainsaws under load)and they carbon up with excessive idle or mid throttle. I disagree with the 30 day gas life, especially when using Stihl 2 cycle oil (it has stabilizer). At my workplace we have no problems with months old gas.
